    Minimum $25 bucks to get the game is painful though. They did an ask us anything via twitter and when asked how much the iOS and Android versions would be they stated between .99 and 4.99 USD. I understand that you get some cool extras, but wow. If you want to follow these creative fellows they are @starcommandgame on twitter.

    TauRho - we understand 25$ is a lot - we really do. If you like the game though like us on Facebook or tell your friends about the project - that stuff goes a long way too!

    @The_Unflattered We made the switch after play tests - it was too slow paced and you could make too many good decisions. We liked it better when there were fires, chaos and you were doing things and saying "shit, I shouldnt have done that"

    @StarCommandGame - thanks for the reply. I support your business model and want to keep you independent, therefore I am now a backer of the PC kickstarter. Best wishes and I look forward to both the iOS and PC versions. I really hope you get the cross-platform support worked out.

    I've a bad sense about Star Command, i don't want trolling, but i have listen so many, many news about this game and no timeline of realease, i start to associate one word whit Star Commnad: vaporware :(

    @Gabriel_Voyager It's definitely coming out this summer. It is in Beta currently and a Demo was available at PAX East in Boston, MA in late spring. They consist with just 3 guys and their initial scope was to make a much smaller game, but their Kickstarter campaign was successful so they wanted to make it bigger and better. They don't want outside investors and they are trying to prevent a rip off company like Zynga from stealing their game (think Tiny Tower) so they don't show much gameplay to prevent them from doing so. Small, independent teams like this have to do these types of things to stay alive. It's definitely coming out, their words "Late Summer 2012".

    @Gabriel_Voyager I hear you man, but Warballoon have been pretty upfront about delays throughout the whole development process. This isn't Duke Nukem Forever.

    @gabriel_voyager Yea, we understand your skepticism a bit but trust us, this game is far from vaporware. TauRho77 is exactly right - most of the delays have come from expanding the game pretty significantly and just dropping release dates a little to early (a mistake we won't make again). However, you are welcome to your opinion, but rest assured - this game is coming out and its going to be coming out soon.

    Yo, this is like the dumbest thing you could say. On an iOS device of all places, you want it to be real time? The player frantically mashing the screen, the same screen he is trying to look at, in real time?

    That you would utter the phrase "too many good decisions" means that you are not to be trusted as a game designer with even a single dollar. You obviously have no idea what games are all about if you think chaos is better than decision-making.

    Gotta agree. The switch away from turn-based has reduced my interest level from "mild, but skeptical" to "non-existent." And the whole speech about "decision-making" was probably better left unsaid; it's actually kind of insulting. That might play well at a lowest-common-denominator site like Touch Arcade, but this site here is specifically geared toward players who enjoy **strategy** gaming. A lot of us actually **like** decisions.

    I'm going to give this game a shot because it's basically like nothing else out there, but @keithburgun brings up a pretty good point.

    Wasn't the version that they playtested with people at PAX East turn-based? It went over pretty well there, why make such a fundamental switch so late in the dev process?

    Without trying it, I can't tell if this is the right decision in this case, but sometimes making decisions under pressure is rewarding. Things like Starcraft are a bit too intense for me to play regularly, which is why I stick mostly to turn-based games, but I can't fault it for being real-time.
