(Refresh) While I cannot agree based on hands-on reality, (Refresh) I do have enough trust in Owen based on our similar tastes (Refresh) in gaming, and our common dislike of (Refresh) Tower Defense games and FPS's with their unwieldy controls. (Refresh). Heres to hoping our (Refresh) like tastes in gaming is spot on with this (Refresh) choice.

On the Battle of the Bulge forums:
"We have liftoff on Battle of the Bulge. Short pause while it propagates through Apple's servers, but then we are LIVE!"

Propagation through all the stores can take 6 to 12 hours. I hope that is not what they meant with "available from 3pm EST". No, there it is, wonder why search doesn't find it...

Will be getting it soon enough. Really love how these guys approached the launch of this app. Get the feeling they are setting all kinds of different bars with this release.

On the one hand I'm glad to see BotB coming out so strong and grabbing an award. On the other hand I'm disappointed that Baldur's Gate was considered too late in the year to be considered for RPG of the year. Maybe next year there will be a cutoff date for consideration in awards

I for one am glad they are charging $10, it will be worth every penny.

Oh, it's guaranteed that there will be bitching and whining over there. Ten bucks? Seriously, how dare they!

(And it's the same site where the users routinely buy $100 worth of games in one swoop to get free shipping, spend $75 on overblown Fantasy Flight Games nonsense, etc.)

I had $10 set aside for Baldur's Gate (which I have played many years ago), but this looks pretty amazing. Sorry Baldur's Gate, maybe next time. Great site BTW.

Agreed that $9.99 is a very decent price. From going through the tutorial, and the History section, there is A LOT of work that has gone into this app. Very well done, and very polished.

Owen, you've done an amazing job with Pocket Tactics, masterfully filling an editorial void for mobile strategy gaming. Your voice, and the developer stories and news you bring to the public, are a great asset to those of us who enjoy deep, non-trivial games. I've been roundly impressed with your independence and credibility.

These are your game of the year awards, handed out according to your subjective criteria. I also doubt you intend them to be taken with solemn seriousness. Still, at a minimum there's an appearance of arbitrariness, that you've hastily abrogated the high standard of character you set for yourself. You are only a man after all.

Perhaps next year you'll wait out the holiday rush of prime titles and save yourself from the latest curvaceous redhead so scrumptious, you can't help yourself. Particularly when you unfairly have her to yourself before the rest of us blokes get a chance.

Now bugger off, it's my turn. Battle of the Bulge, here I come.

Got it, never played anything like it but as everyone seems to be spazzing all over the place about it I just had to.

Can you do three way MP battles on this? I was hoping to be the French and just sort of hang about at the back and watch.
