This is retarded. Unless they've lied about the game's content to the press, it's not "targeting" anyone. Slight difference between giving a game a real setting and background, and filling it with hateful racist content.

For a moment, Bashar Al-Assad looked as if he might cry. 'Be strong,' he said to himself. 'You're the President.' He hit the unsubscribe button.

He never returned to Pocket Tactics again.

And I would like to add that even producers of the game do not seem to know what exactly they did wrong.

In the case of BotB, though, where does the fault (if "fault" is even the right word) apply?

Is it Apple's often-silly policies? Is it the BotB guys not doing their research? Or is it draconian German laws concerning a war that ended nearly 70 years ago?

I also like to know. BotB has no Nazi symbols would not be forthcoming in any history book. The original short films run all day on television. The music also is not subject to copyright

http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/news/international/sun-double-bluffing-argentina-into-war-2013010455037 - Is the game actually just this, but with Syrians instead of Argies?

The fault is both Germany's and Apple's. Germany's laws are pathetic, I grew up there as my dad was in the British army. Like most young kids of the time I loved model kits and bought them with my pocket money. Whenever I got a German kit the Nazi symbols on the box would have been blacked out with permanent marker and the decal sheet removed.

Apple are always far to quick to censor if they believe something may hinder business. Do you remember Smuggle Truck? The prospect of a game featuring Mexican immigrant smuggling upset a few minor American politicians so the game was promptly refused by Apple. It could be the relevant Germans are completely unaware of the game, Apple just can't be arsed with the hassle.

Most probably it's something else though, because what the feck do I know.
