Hey, thanks for the shout out from Android Headlines!!

I think Nvidia have a very tough road ahead of them and with portable consoles coming before it failing, they're really going to have to proof this isn't just another piece of fancy hardware with little support.

As I posted elsewhere I think this is a "look what Tegra 4 can do" demo device, not really aimed at consumers but at developers and the media. If an Android-based console takes off it's most likely not going to be Nvidia's but you can be sure Nvidia wants to supply the chipset -- that's the goal here IMO.

It's fantastically ugly. I know that shouldn't be important but unfortunately it is. I never bought the original Nintendo DS as it was an eyesore, I ended up getting a DS Lite and an XL because Nintendo sorted out the design. Same with the 3DS, it's bloody ugly so I avoided, I purchased a 3DS XL on day one.

Apple and to some degree Sony get this, you immediatly want to pick up an iPhone or PSP. Also, clamshells are hard to make look sexy, Nintendo themselves have failed before. Wouldn't most gamers accept the trade off for a wider/taller device but also thinner/sleaker and much more attractive.

All this before you even consider how poor android is as a gaming platform at the moment.

That would be fantastic for digital family boardgames! For millionaire families, anyway.

I read the second photo caption as "The Shield is doomed at CES." Either works, really.
