I am ashamed to admit that each time you or someone else talks about this game I check the iTunes store for it. Only to discover that I actually bought the full game some time ago. My poor little iPhone gets used mostly for short bite sized games yet I long to play fuller, more complex ones on it. Only to delete them when my son gets a new TV series tie-in app ;) In an attempt to resolve this issue I have made a pledge not to buy a new app until I finish an old one. With so many interesting apps on the way I may be unable to actually hold the line.
I love the game, and the world. I am ashamed to admin that I get a mud puddle stomped into my backside on the second mission of Ravenhood, and I just can't seem to get past it.
Good luck @jon_a_ross. Your fight is the fight of the people!
Alright, I bought this along time ago and it felt less tactical and more like a puzzle to me. Is it just a few of the levels that have the puzzle feel to it or is it always like that? Curious to see if I should pick it back up. Thanks to those who reply!

Lemme see if I can help. I think the easiest way to beat that mission is to treat your Elements with no leaders as fodder while you retreat to the fort. Also, the Greyjackets' 'Snipe' ability should keep anything nasty at a distance.

Well, the larger battles definitely give you much more of a tactical feel. Perhaps the mission objectives are a bit too specific? I hope you'll get into it down the way. =)
If anything, testing multiplayer shows that it's a whole different ball game when you're playing against another person. (@£%^-damn marshrunners and boars..) So mebbe Mercs might interest you more!

I have heard other people say this about Ravenmark and other strategy/tactics games and I don't really get it. In what sense is it a puzzle game? Each level has multiple solutions. The AI isn't scripted in the sense that it performs the same moves every time. I don't know the programing logic, but from playing I'd guess there is an "offense" mode and "defense" mode. It will advance and attack targets of opportunity based which ever element each particular unit is best against. It will also favor flanking with hand-to-hand elements and retreating with ranged elements. The only thing it doesn't do is spontaneously create formations.
When I think of "puzzle" game, I think of a game that's the same every time with only one of two "correct" solutions, and the player tasked with discovering the "correct" answer that allows him to move forward. Once you discover it, there isn't much challenge left. Ravenmark isn't really like that. That said, I would give it a chance and see if you like the new campaigns depending on how much you have played. The game gets a lot better since the Ravenhood (2nd) campaign.

Do tell if it helps! =D
Snipe! That's what I was missing! I couldn't find it in the Codex (forgot to look at the unit, not just the commander) It helped, thank you very much!
Hey there! Loving this game i bought the expansion as soon as i could; negative fact, i stumbled on a crash while loading the second mission, as soon as i get the" loading battlefield" notify after the cutscene, any suggestion?? ( on ios 5.1.1 ipad3) thank you

Heya Nelson! I think Kev is corresponding with ya over email, yes? I'll speak to him about a possible solution. We've never had a crash like that during testing. =)
